E. coli found in "Biokat" matsun

As part of an inspection conducted at the Biokat LLC dairy production facility in the Akhtanak district of Yerevan, inspectors from the Yerevan Center of the Food Safety Inspectorate collected and sent samples of sour cream (18%), matsun (5%), peach yogurt (1.5%), and Chechil cheese (45%) for laboratory testing.

Armenia to protect 'basturma' and 'matsun'as national brands

Discussions are underway to secure and protect national geographical indications for “Armenian basturma” (dried meat with spices), “Armenian matsun” (a fermented milk product, a type of yogurt) and a number of other products, Armenian Deputy Economy Minister Narek Hovakimyan said at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on European integration on Monday.
