Pashinyan says Armenian pensioners can fly to Larnaca for 2 euros. We found out if this is possible
YEREVAN, April 15. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan argued today that due to the pension increase effective from April 1, local pensioners can make five flights from Gyumri to Larnaca, Cyprus.
He made this announcement on Wednesday during a government Q&A session in parliament. Pashinyan said he had recently came across a screenshot showing a one-way ticket to Larnaca for next Sunday priced at 2.19 euros, or 900 drams.
"This means that with the increased pension, a pensioner can purchase a round-trip ticket from Gyumri to Larnaca five times," Pashinyan remarked.
Discussing the social status of pensioners, he highlighted plans to launch a program aimed at boosting the economic activity of pensioners and referred to 63 as "the ideal age to start a business."
"At 63, 65, or even 70 years old—what does age matter if a person is healthy? That’s the purpose of the universal health insurance system. When someone is active, content with life, and engaged in activities, that holds far more significance than donations," Pashinyan expressed.
It is important to note that the one-way tickets Pashinyan referred to, priced around 2 euros, are part of Wizz Air's promotional offers and do not reflect their standard pricing policy.
