Armenia does not intend to pressure the EU in context of European integration – Prime Minister
YEREVAN, April 15. /ARKA/. Armenia does not intend to use pressure in its relations with the European Union in the context of the adoption of the law and possible EU membership, stated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

"We will not blackmail the EU and say: 'We have adopted the relevant law, so make us an EU member next month.' There should be no nervousness in this process," Pashinyan said at the eighth meeting of the Armenia-EU Civil Society Platform on Wednesday.
According to him, this process is an opportunity for Armenia to continue reforms and consistently move closer to European standards.

Pashinyan noted that the issue of EU membership depends on the political decision of the union itself. "The EU can decide not to expand or to expand according to a certain logic. We cannot pressure anyone's political will," he stated.

The Prime Minister emphasized that if the decision is positive, Armenia is ready to become a full member of the EU, and if not, the country will still benefit by meeting modern standards.

"We are still far from that point, but we have a strategy, political will, and a vision for moving forward," Pashinyan added.
