Armenia's Civil Aviation Committee explains flight restrictions for May 3-5

The Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia has clarified the flight restrictions for general aviation in the country's airspace, which will be in effect from May 3 to 5, 2026.
YEREVAN, April 16. /ARKA/. The Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia has clarified the flight restrictions for general aviation in the country's airspace, which will be in effect from May 3 to 5, 2026.
The committee stated that the ban will only apply to general aviation flights, including:
• non-commercial business flights,
• training flights,
• private flights,
• flights for agricultural, construction, research, filming, surveillance, advertising, and other special services,
• any flights of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones).
"This ban does not apply to commercial (scheduled and non-scheduled) flights, nor to flights operated in emergency situations, and is related only to large-scale events taking place in the Republic of Armenia during the specified period with the participation of numerous foreign delegations—for security reasons," the committee stated (according to the agency's official Facebook page).
The agency also called on people to refrain from disseminating false information and to monitor the official announcements of the Civil Aviation Committee.
The previous day, the committee stated that the ban is related to large-scale events to be held in the Republic of Armenia from May 3 to 5, 2026 (the 8th European Political Community Summit, the 1st Armenia-EU Summit, and the Yerevan Dialogue Forum).
