Armenia-US TRIPP agreement signed: Joint venture created to implement the project
YEREVAN, June 4. /ARKA/. Armenia and the United States signed an agreement on the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP), the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported.

Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan signed the document on June 4 for Armenia, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio signed it on behalf of the United States.
The TRIPP framework agreement was initialed on May 26 during Rubio's visit to Yerevan.

On the creation of the joint venture

On June 3, the Board of Directors of the U.S.-Armenia International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) approved the creation of the TRIPP Development Company, a joint venture between the United States and Armenia. The project is included in DFC's $2.5 billion package of new strategic investments.

According to a DFC statement, the company aims to support trade, transport, and economic development, as well as expand international, interstate, and domestic transport connectivity.

DFC noted that the project builds on the peace declaration between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the signing of the TRIPP framework agreement. The company is expected to facilitate the implementation of infrastructure projects, including railways, roads, pipelines, fiber-optic lines, and other projects.

The corporation also noted that the transactions may require additional procedures before commitment and closing, including notification to Congress.

About the TRIPP Project

Following their meeting in Washington on January 13, 2026, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio issued a joint statement on the framework for implementing the Trump Roadmap for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP).

The document envisages the launch of a mechanism for developing multimodal transit connectivity through Armenia, including connecting the mainland of Azerbaijan with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Region and integrating it into the Trans-Caspian Trade Route.

Armenia intends to sanction the creation of the TRIPP Development Company, which is expected to receive an initial 49-year right to implement the project.

It is planned to offer the United States a 74% stake in the company, while Armenia retains 26%. If the agreement is extended for another 50 years, the share ratio is expected to change.
