National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia and World-Renowned Violinist Sergey Khachatryan Bring Classical Music to Armenia’s Syunik Region
YEREVAN, August 3. /ARKA/. On July 29–31, the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia, led by its Artistic Director and Chief Conductor Eduard Topchjan, embarked on a concert tour across Armenia’s Syunik Province, joined by internationally acclaimed violinist Sergey Khachatryan, one of the world’s leading classical musicians.
The performances took place in the cities of Meghri, Kapan, and Goris, with the support of the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine and the Agarak Copper-Molybdenum Combine.
The concert programme featured Max Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 in G Minor, performed by Sergey Khachatryan, alongside Aram Khachaturian’s Masquerade Suite, performed by the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia under the baton of Eduard Topchjan.
The tour marked an important cultural event for the Syunik Province, giving local audiences the rare opportunity to experience performances by world-class musicians and to enjoy masterpieces of the classical repertoire performed by one of Armenia’s foremost orchestras.
The initiative reflects a shared commitment to strengthening cultural life across Armenia while fostering cooperation between Armenia and the Armenian Diaspora in support of meaningful cultural and public initiatives.
