Air pollution costs violators in Armenia 3.15 million drams in fines, regulator reports

The Inspectorate for Nature and Mineral Resources of Armenia has identified 45 violations of atmospheric air protection requirements, resulting in fines totaling 3.15 million drams.
YEREVAN, July 14. /ARKA/. The Inspectorate for Nature and Mineral Resources of Armenia has identified 45 violations of atmospheric air protection requirements, resulting in fines totaling 3.15 million drams.
"From June 22 to July 10, inclusive, enhanced inspections were conducted to ensure compliance with atmospheric air protection requirements in the capital and regions of the republic. As a result, numerous violations were identified," the regulator reported.
The agency reported that during the inspections, special attention was paid to the illegal movement of topsoil, the transportation of bulk materials (sand, cement, gypsum, crushed stone), and construction waste without dust-proof opaque coverings, as well as compliance with atmospheric air protection requirements at construction sites. Fines totaling 3.15 million drams were imposed for 45 identified cases of administrative violations.
