"Easy Jobs" and High Income: Armenia's Cyber Police Warns of New Fraudulent Scheme
YEREVAN, August 17. /ARKA/. The Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs' Cyber Police has warned of scammers offering "jobs" under the guise of Alibaba.
"Fake ads continue to spread online, particularly on Telegram and WhatsApp, and groups are being created offering easy jobs, investments, and high incomes on Alibaba or similar platforms," the agency said in a statement.
To "start work" or withdraw earned "income," the scammers demand that money be transferred to specified bank accounts. After the transfer, they demand increasingly larger sums and then disappear.
To avoid falling victim to such scams, the Cyber Police urges people not to transfer money to unknown bank accounts to "get a job," not to enter their bank card information (CVV/CVC) on suspicious websites, and not to trust tempting offers sent by unknown people via Telegram.-0-
