YEREVAN, August 17. /ARКА/. Over 1.444 billion drams were allocated from the Armenian state budget in 2025 for renovation and equipping of the National Center for Nuclear Medicine at the V.A. Fanarjyan National Oncology Center.

Of this amount, over 36 million drams were allocated for partial renovation of the center, and over 1.407 billion drams were allocated for the purchase of new medical equipment.

The Armenian government's press service released these figures following last week's visit by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who inspected the center's facilities and future development plans. He was accompanied by Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan and Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan.

As part of the upgrade, the center received a modern digital PET/CT system, high-end sonography and mammography equipment, colonoscopy and colposcopic systems, and uninterruptible power supply equipment.

In 2025, the National Center for Nuclear Medicine also expanded its scope of activities.

The center is equipped with a cyclotron manufactured by the Belgian company IBA. Furthermore, equipment for the development of theranostic medicine has already been purchased through tenders.

According to those responsible for the project, the created infrastructure and technological base will enable the development of diagnostic and therapeutic areas of nuclear medicine, the introduction of new radiopharmaceuticals and theranostic approaches, and the development of relevant professional potential.
