Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited today a plant, which is assembling Kalashnikov assault rifles for the Armenian Armed Forces.

YEREVAN, July 7. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited today a plant, which is assembling Kalashnikov assault rifles for the Armenian Armed Forces.

Pashinyan was shown also modern night-vision optoelectronic complexes called "Monte" developed and produced in Armenia.

The representative of the Kalashnikov concern Igor Gordienko told Pashinyan about plans to expand output. Particularly, the plant will be producing 50,000 automatic rifles and 150 million cartridges per year.  He also added that there are plans to organize repair of armored vehicles and trucks as well as create at least 1,200 jobs. 

The agreement on the assembly of automatic rifles in Armenia was reached in August 2018 in Moscow at a meeting of the head of the Armenian Neutron NGO David Galstyan with the deputy head of the Kalashnikov concern Andrei Baryshnikov.
Armenia is awarded a 10-year license to produce Kalashnikov AK-103 assault rifles. -0-
