YEREVAN, May 15. /ARКА/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that he is not pursuing a policy against the EAEU, as otherwise the union's work would be paralyzed.
"If I were to pursue a policy contrary to the EAEU today, the EAEU would be paralyzed, since all decisions in this organization are made by consensus. That is, no decision in the EAEU could be made if I were against it," Pashinyan noted at a briefing on Thursday.
Therefore, he stated, if he acted against the EAEU, the organization would be paralyzed.
Armenian government officials have repeatedly stated that the issue of leaving the EAEU is not on the agenda. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, however, emphasized that Armenia is moving toward EU standards but is currently maintaining its membership in the EAEU. According to him, if combining both directions becomes impossible, the next choice will be made together with the country's citizens.
