From "Business and Privatization" to Modern Media Platforms: 30 Years of ARKA Development
YEREVAN, May 15. /ARKA/. On May 16, 1996, ARKA News Agency's first information product, the financial and economic bulletin "Business and Privatization," was published.
The first issue was dedicated to the key processes in the development of the independent Armenian economy, the banking system, privatization, and the stock market. The bulletin featured analytical materials, financial news, market reviews, and data on the economic situation in Armenia and the region. Topics covered included Armenia's banking system, foreign investment, enterprise privatization, the government securities market, and global commodity markets.
In particular, the bulletin published the following materials:
— "Midland-Armenia Bank Exempted from Value Added Tax";
— "Armeconombank Plans to Place Second Share Issue"; — "Portrait of Armagrobank";
— "A Trend Toward Merger of Bank Capital Is Emerging in Armenia";
— "Rating of the 10 Most Attractive Armenian Enterprises for Foreign Investors";
— "Results of T-Bill Auctions at the Central Bank of Armenia";
— Reviews of global commodity markets – oil, gold, grain, and coffee.
Later, the "Business and Privatization" newsletter was reformatted into the weekly "ARKA-Business" – the agency's analytical product for business audiences and professional market participants.
Today, ARKA continues to develop new formats and products. For its 30th anniversary, the agency launched a special project about ARKA products and services, combining the media holding's information, analytical, and service solutions in a single, modern format.
