YEREVAN, May 13. /ARKA/. The launch of direct trade between Armenia and Turkey will create new market entry opportunities for businesses and significantly reduce costs and delivery times, according to the Armenian Ministry of Economy.
"As of May 11, 2026, direct trade between Armenia and Turkey has been launched. This creates the opportunity for direct trade between the two countries, which will significantly reduce costs and delivery times, as well as expand opportunities for business, new markets, and cooperation," the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry noted that even when transporting goods through third countries, the country of origin or final destination may officially be indicated as "Armenia" or "Turkey."
Earlier, Armenia's Special Representative for the Normalization of Relations with Turkey, Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Ruben Rubinyan, stated that trade between the two countries, in the customs sense, has become possible directly, without the need for re-registration through third countries.
