American AECOM Begins Site Survey for TRIPP Project in Armenia

Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan received a team from the American engineering and consulting firm AECOM, delegated to Armenia by the U.S. State Department's Global Infrastructure and Investment Partnership Fund to begin site survey work for the TRIPP project.

According to the government press service, the company presented to the Deputy Prime Minister the main focus and expected results of the work being carried out as part of the feasibility study it is developing.
The Deputy Prime Minister, emphasizing the importance of the TRIPP initiative in terms of strengthening peace and stability in the region, emphasized the ongoing work and presented the possibilities of unblocking regional communications, emphasizing the great potential for the transit of goods and resources through Armenia. Following their January 13 meeting in Washington, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio issued a joint statement on the framework for implementing the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP).
The document envisages the launch of a mechanism for developing multimodal transit connectivity through Armenia, including connecting the mainland of Azerbaijan with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Region and integrating it into the Trans-Caspian Trade Route.
Armenia intends to authorize the creation of the TRIPP Development Company, which is expected to receive an initial 49-year right to implement the project.
It is planned to offer the United States a 74% stake in the company, while Armenia retains 26%. If the agreement is extended for another 50 years, the share ratio is expected to be adjusted.
