Mirzoyan: Despite unfavorable global developments, work on the TRIPP project continues
YEREVAN, April 10. /ARKA/. Armenia and the United States are actively collaborating on the execution of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project, despite challenging global circumstances, as stated by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
"We are currently drafting the necessary documents; we are in the midst of finalizing an intergovernmental agreement," Mirzoyan mentioned during a joint press conference with Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsakhkna, who is visiting Armenia officially.
Mirzoyan also noted that they regularly share insights with the US administration.
"I am optimistic that we will soon transition to the construction phase. At that point, support from third-party partners will be essential. This project offers advantages to many nations, from China to Portugal, not to mention our neighboring countries in the region," he remarked.
Previously, in response to an inquiry from Armenpress, a spokesperson for the US State Department affirmed that the Trump administration is dedicated to advancing the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project.
On April 2, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed that Armenia is prepared and committed to the prompt execution of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project.
About the TRIPP project
After their meeting on January 13 in Washington, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio released a joint statement outlining the framework for the implementation of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP).
The agreement outlines the initiation of a mechanism to enhance multimodal transit connectivity through Armenia, which includes linking the mainland of Azerbaijan with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Region and incorporating it into the Trans-Caspian Trade Route.
Armenia plans to authorize the formation of the TRIPP Development Company, which is anticipated to be granted the initial rights to carry out the project for a duration of 49 years.-0-
