Electricity generation in Armenia increased by 9.4% over the first seven months, reaching 6.08 billion kWh

Armenia generated 6,077.9 million kWh of electricity in January-July 2026, a 9.4% increase compared to January-July 2025, according to data from the Statistical Committee of Armenia.
YEREVAN, September 8. /ARKA/. Armenia generated 6,077.9 million kWh of electricity in January-July 2026, a 9.4% increase compared to January-July 2025, according to data from the Statistical Committee of Armenia.
The largest volume of electricity generated was from thermal power plants (TPPs) – 2,466.5 million kWh, or 40.6% of the total. TPP generation increased by 43.8% compared to January-July 2025.
Hydroelectric power plants (HPPs) came in second, generating 1,619 million kWh, or 26.6% of the total, a 7.1% increase compared to the same period last year.
Solar power plants followed, generating 1,052.3 million kWh, or 17.3% of the total, a 13.5% increase compared to January-July 2025.
The Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) generated 939.5 million kWh, or 15.5% of the total. Compared to January-July 2025, electricity production at NPPs decreased by 33.1%.
Wind power plants generated 0.6 million kWh of electricity, an increase of 36.8%; their share of the total was approximately 0.01%.
The electricity production volume also includes electricity generated by autonomous power producers through power flows.
In particular, according to the Public Services Regulatory Commission of the Republic of Armenia, the total volume of electricity supplied by autonomous energy producers of Electric Networks of Armenia CJSC amounted to 398.5 million kWh, and the volume of electricity generated and consumed by them on site, according to the estimated estimate, was 230.7 million kWh.
