YEREVAN, September 8. /ARKA/. Armenia has begun exporting fresh fruits and vegetables to the UAE. According to the press service of the RA Ministry of Economy, the initial export volume is up to 40 tons per week, with the potential to further increase export volumes to 40 tons per week.

The export is being implemented under the Memorandum of Understanding signed on August 27 of this year between the Armenian Ministry of Economy and Watermelon Ecosystem.

Watermelon Ecosystem is a Dubai-based food and beverage technology platform that connects restaurants, hotels, food suppliers, producers, and farmers, offering solutions for digital procurement, supply chain management, and financing. The company also actively works with local producers and suppliers, facilitating the access of their products to the food service industry. According to Armstat, Armenia's foreign trade turnover with the UAE for the first seven months of 2026 amounted to $356.5 million, a 72.1% decline compared to the same period of 2025. Exports amounted to $325.4 million (a 73.7% decline), while imports amounted to $234.5 million (an 8.8% increase).
