Amid strong consumer and investment activity, Armenia's GDP growth will reach 6% by the end of 2026, according to the EDB's weekly review.
YEREVAN, August 24. /ARKA/. Amid strong consumer and investment activity, Armenia's GDP growth will reach 6% by the end of 2026, according to the EDB's weekly review.
According to preliminary data from the Armstat, Armenia's GDP grew by 6.7% in the second quarter of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025.
"The largest contribution to GDP growth came from the services sector – financial activities, information and communications, as well as construction and mining (increased by 8.8%, 11.5%, 20.2%, and 27.6% year-on-year, respectively). "Consumer spending and investment were the main drivers on the demand side (growth of 5.7% and 7.9% year-on-year, respectively)," the EDB review notes.
The 2026 state budget projects economic growth in Armenia at 5.4%. According to the Central Bank's monetary policy report for the second quarter of this year, by the end of 2026, Armenia's GDP growth is expected to be 4.5-4.1%, depending on scenario (A-B).
The following are the economic growth forecasts for Armenia from international financial institutions for 2026: World Bank - 5.3%; IMF - 5.25%; ADB - 5.5%; EBRD - 5.5%; EDB - 6%; S&P Global Ratings - 5.3%; Fitch Ratings - 5.2%.
