Iran intends to expand investment cooperation with Armenia through the Araz Free Economic Zone

Iran's Araz Free Economic Zone is exploring opportunities to expand economic and investment cooperation between Armenia and Iran, said Hadi Moghadamzadeh, Chairman of the Board and Director General of the FEZ, during the Armenia Expo 2026 exhibition in Yerevan.
YEREVAN, September 5. /ARKA/. Iran's Araz Free Economic Zone is exploring opportunities to expand economic and investment cooperation between Armenia and Iran, said Hadi Moghadamzadeh, Chairman of the Board and Director General of the FEZ, during the Armenia Expo 2026 exhibition in Yerevan.
According to him, Araz, located near the Armenian border, can be used as a platform for developing bilateral economic ties and implementing joint projects.
According to Armenpress, Moghadamzadeh named industry, agriculture, logistics, and tourism among promising areas of cooperation.
He also noted the FEZ's potential for accommodating industrial and investment projects and reported the presence of a large greenhouse farm and logistics infrastructure within its territory.
According to the FEZ's director, Iran is interested in developing economic cooperation with neighboring countries through the establishment of appropriate cooperation mechanisms.
Moghadamzade emphasized that Araz is ready to collaborate with Armenian investors and entrepreneurs in various fields.
"Borders do not exist to divide countries and peoples; they should be a bridge connecting them," he said.
The Armenia Expo 2026 international exhibition is taking place in Yerevan from September 4-6. More than 150 entrepreneurs and companies from nine countries are participating.
