YEREVAN, July 30. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced the date of the government's resignation.

"This is the last meeting of the government in its current composition," Pashinyan said, concluding the Cabinet meeting on Thursday.

According to him, in connection with the formation of the 9th National Assembly, the government will resign on Sunday. Following this, the Armenian president will appoint the candidate nominated by the parliamentary majority as prime minister.

The first meeting of the National Assembly of Armenia of the ninth convocation, formed following the parliamentary elections of June 7, 2026, will be held on August 2.

After the new parliament begins its work, the procedure for nominating and electing a prime minister must be completed, after which a new government will be formed.

Three political forces will be represented in the National Assembly of the ninth convocation: the ruling Civil Contract party with 64 deputies, the Strong Armenia bloc with 29 deputies, and the Armenia bloc with 12 deputies.
