Armenia Allocates 1.7 Billion AMD to Compensate Greenhouse Product Exporters in August

On Thursday, the Armenian government decided to extend the compensation program for the export of certain greenhouse products through August.
YEREVAN, July 30. /ARKA/. On Thursday, the Armenian government decided to extend the compensation program for the export of certain greenhouse products through August.
According to the government press service, at the suggestion of economic entities, the list of subsidized products has been expanded to include Palermo peppers and eggplants. This measure is aimed at increasing the competitiveness of Armenian products in foreign markets.
The compensation amounts will be:
770 AMD per 1 kg of strawberries;
275 AMD per 1 kg of tomatoes;
400 AMD per 1 kg of cherry tomatoes;
400 AMD per 1 kg of peppers;
500 AMD per 1 kg of Palermo peppers;
200 drams per 1 kg of eggplant;
37 drams for each exported flower;
50 drams per flower exported to EU countries, the UK, or Switzerland.
From June 1 to July 23, 2026, Armenia exported approximately 1,530 tons of peppers, 770 tons of tomatoes, 213.4 tons of strawberries, and approximately 5.8 million pieces, or 58 tons, of flowers.
In particular, during the first 23 days of July, approximately 742 tons of peppers, 562 tons of tomatoes, 104.4 tons of strawberries, and 2.3 million pieces, or 23 tons, of flowers were exported.
During this period, the geography of exports also expanded: flowers were exported to 26 countries, fruits to 19, and vegetables to eight countries.
According to government forecasts, approximately 150 tons of strawberries, 4,100 tons of vegetables, and 5.2 million flowers may be exported in August under the program.
The rationale for the decision notes that Armenian companies are actively negotiating to enter new markets and expect an increase in exports. Moreover, price proposals are being formed taking into account state-provided compensation.
To receive compensation for products exported by air to countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, the Air Waybill is included in the required package of documents.
Restrictions on the supply of Armenian goods to Russia
Russia previously imposed restrictions on the supply of a number of products from Armenia to the Russian Federation and transit through its territory, including the Eurasian Economic Union, citing violations of phytosanitary requirements. The restrictions apply to flowers, mineral water and alcohol, fresh and dried vegetables, fruits, berries, potatoes, fish and fish products, and dairy products.
In light of these restrictions, the Armenian government has expanded support for exporters in alternative markets, providing partial compensation for transportation costs and customs duties on shipments to the EU, UK, and Canada.
State support extends to subsidized exports of products such as fish, fresh and dried fruits and vegetables, and other food products and beverages.
