DP World May Participate in Gyumri Dry Port Project

The possible participation of global trade and logistics company DP World in the Gyumri Dry Port project was discussed in Dubai during a meeting between RA Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan and DP World Chairman of the Board of Directors Essa Kazim.
YEREVAN, September 9. /ARKA/. The possible participation of global trade and logistics company DP World in the Gyumri Dry Port project was discussed in Dubai during a meeting between RA Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan and DP World Chairman of the Board of Directors Essa Kazim.
According to the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Economy, the parties also discussed prospects for developing modern warehousing and multimodal logistics infrastructure in Armenia, as well as establishing long-term cooperation to strengthen the country's position as a regional trade and logistics hub.

About the Gyumri Dry Port Project
It was previously reported that the Armenian government plans to invest $37 million in it. According to the project, the dry port will be adjacent to Shirak International Airport, the railway, and the North-South transport corridor.
It will include an airport with free economic zone status, distribution centers (hubs), small and medium-sized enterprises, light industry facilities, production bases, production lines, and an international food market.
It is envisaged that the Shirak region will be transformed into an industrial zone, and the dry port will become a multifunctional and multimodal hub servicing regional and international companies requiring the consolidation of customs processes.
