YEREVAN, June 12. /ARKA/. The Armenian Public Services Regulatory Commission and the Swiss development organization Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation are establishing cooperation within the framework of a program to promote inclusive and green economic development.

Mesrop Mesropyan, head of the PSRC, and Hovsep Patvakanyan, head of the Armenian representative office of HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation, signed a memorandum of understanding on Friday.

According to the PSRC press service, the memorandum establishes a framework for cooperation between the parties in the areas of sustainable economic development, energy efficiency, green transition, improvement of the regulatory environment, and efficient management and use of energy resources.

The document also provides for cooperation in research, consulting, knowledge sharing, capacity development, stakeholder engagement, and the development of proposals that contribute to the improvement of the energy sector and market development.

The head of the PSRC emphasized the practical importance of cooperation, stating that the energy sector is undergoing rapid transformation, creating new challenges for regulators.

"Today, effective regulation requires not only strong institutions, but also modern expertise, continuous professional development, and close cooperation with international partners," Mesropyan noted.

Mesropyan also stated that cooperation will facilitate the implementation of modern approaches to energy regulation, the exchange of international best practices, and support efforts to create a more predictable and investment-friendly environment in the industry.
