YEREVAN, June 12. /ARKA/. An earthquake measuring 6-7 on the Richter scale, which struck Azerbaijan, was also felt by residents of Armenia, the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia reports.
"On June 12 at 3:13 PM local time (11:13 AM GMT), the Armenian Seismic Service registered an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 in Azerbaijan, 52 km southeast of the city of Sheki. The earthquake's epicenter was located at a depth of 10 km," the statement noted.
An earthquake with an intensity of 2-3 on the Richter scale was felt in the Tavush region of Armenia, in the town of Berd and the villages of Chinari and Aygedzor.
