Emergency ministry evaluating damages caused by Azerbaijani aggression against Armenia
YEREVAN, Sept. 16. /ARKA/. Hotels, a sanatorium, the Kechut reservoir, a ropeway, the building of the Fire and Rescue Squad, cars and other personal property of citizens in Vayots Dzor province were damaged by Azerbaijani shelling on September 13 and 14, Armenian Emergencies Minister Armen Pambukhchyan said at a government session on Friday.
He added that power lines were also damaged in the villages of Vagatin, Vorotanavan, Shamp, Darpas, Ketatagh, Lor, Lernashen, Dastakert in the Sisian community of Syunik. There are also ambulances damaged by shelling.
"In Gegharkunik region people’s houses were damaged, hectares of wheat fields. In Sotq community 55-60 houses, stables, many gas pipes and a number of cars of citizens were damaged," the Minister said.
Azerbaijani attack on Armenia targeted civilians - one citizen was killed by shrapnel wounds. Armenian Human Rights Defender Kristine Grigoryan said at the government meeting.
The ombudsman reported that another six civilians were wounded. According to her, journalists were also targeted, which is a violation of international humanitarian law. She said her office continues to collect information about war crimes committed by Azerbaijan.-0-
