EU hails meeting of Armenia and Turkey on the Gyumri-Kars railway
YEREVAN, April 30. /ARКА/. The European Union hailed the meeting of the Armenian-Turkish bilateral working group on the restoration of rail links between the two countries, held in Kars.
As previously reported by the Armenian Foreign Ministry, a meeting of the joint working group on the restoration and reopening of the Gyumri-Kars railway line was held in Kars on April 28, as part of the agreements reached during the normalization process between Armenia and Turkey.
«The sustained momentum in the Armenia-Türkiye normalisation process reflects the broader positive dynamics taking hold in the region – essential for lasting peace and stability. The EU encourages the full normalisation between both countries.
Once operational, the Kars-Gyumri rail link will strengthen regional connectivity and deliver concrete gains for all the populations in the South Caucasus.
