Armenian Prime Minister Announces Imminent Launch of the TRIPP Project

In his address on the anniversary of the Washington summit on August 8, 2025, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that the practical implementation of the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP) project will begin soon.

Pashinyan recalled that on August 8, 2025, at the initiative and with the participation of US President Donald Trump, a trilateral meeting of the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the United States was held at the White House. He stated that the August 8 meeting is now referred to as the "Peace Summit," and the joint declaration adopted by him and the President of Azerbaijan, which the US President also signed as a witness, is now referred to as the "Declaration of Peace."
Pashinyan called the TRIPP project—"Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity"—one of the most important results of the Washington Peace Summit.
According to him, the project will very soon end the blockade of Armenia, become the economic axis of Armenia and the region, and help Armenia and Azerbaijan begin to perceive each other "not as an obstacle, but as a path, as a neighbor."
"We will soon begin the practical implementation of the TRIPP project, and this will be a major regional and international event," the Prime Minister stated.
On the peace process
"The peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan is visible and tangible for everyone," Pashinyan stated.
The Prime Minister noted that in the parliamentary elections in Armenia on June 7, 2026, the country's citizens, in his words, "not only cast a vote of confidence in peace, but also stood up for peace."
However, he emphasized that this does not mean that the final step in the implementation of the peace agenda has been reached.
Pashinyan recalled that the agreement "On the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan," initialed on August 8, 2025, in Washington by the foreign ministers of the two countries in the presence of the three leaders, awaits signature and ratification.
Furthermore, he stated that delimitation between Armenia and Azerbaijan has yet to take place, and the continued imprisonment of our compatriots in Azerbaijan "greatly worries and concerns us all."
Discourse on Return
In his address, Pashinyan also stated that "the page of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict has been closed, peace has been established." He also noted, however, that it is extremely easy and quick to destroy and reverse peace, raising the question of whether peace will be restored in such a case after 35 years.
The Prime Minister specifically addressed the issue of return. According to him, to ensure the irreversibility of peace, it is necessary to stop discourses about the right of "return of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh" and "the return of Armenian refugees from Azerbaijan," and in Azerbaijan, about the right of "return of Western Azerbaijan and Western Azerbaijanis."
According to Pashinyan, this issue must be addressed in both Armenia and Azerbaijan for the sake of the right of future generations to peaceful coexistence.
