Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan discussed developing trade and economic cooperation between the two countries with French Ambassador to Armenia Olivier Decotigny.
YEREVAN, June 30. /ARКА/. Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan discussed developing trade and economic cooperation between the two countries with French Ambassador to Armenia Olivier Decotigny.
Papoyan reported on social media that during the meeting with Decotigny, they discussed opportunities to increase Armenian exports, strengthen business ties between Armenian producers and French companies, and organize B2B meetings.
The parties also discussed promoting Armenian products in the French market.
According to the Statistical Committee of Armenia, Armenia's trade turnover with France in January-March 2026 amounted to $70.4 million, a 2.3-fold increase compared to the same period in 2025.
France, moreover, entered the top five EU countries in terms of import volume to Armenia, with $64.4 million (a 2.7-fold increase).
Overall, Armenia's trade turnover with the EU countries increased by 54.3% in the first quarter of 2026, reaching $763.2 million. Armenian exports to the EU countries increased by 89.8%, reaching $248.7 million, and imports by 37.6%, reaching $571.1 million.
