YEREVAN, June 30. /ARKA/. The Armenian authorities intend to implement a pilot project for the production of "green" hydrogen. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan gave the corresponding order following a government meeting devoted to the development prospects for this area.

During the meeting, the results of the work of a group established under the Investment Committee to study the prospects for developing "green" hydrogen production in Armenia were discussed. Participants reviewed proposals prepared based on research by the working group and consulting companies.

Approaches to developing a regulatory framework, potential applications of "green" hydrogen, as well as long-term solutions aimed at decarbonizing the energy system, reducing emissions, and meeting the requirements of the "green" taxonomy were presented.

In addition, meeting participants were presented with the results of feasibility studies on the production and integration of green hydrogen, prepared by consulting firms BDO Advisory and CIVITTA. Short-, medium-, and long-term development scenarios for the industry were also discussed.

Summarizing the discussion, Pashinyan noted the importance of the research conducted and emphasized the need to implement a pilot project for green hydrogen production with the participation of the scientific community and drawing on international experience. The Prime Minister instructed that a report on the progress of the pilot project be presented in the near future.
