YEREVAN, June 30. /ARKA/. Armenia is not experiencing a diesel fuel shortage, stated RA Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan.

"We currently do not have a diesel fuel shortage problem. There is no cheap gasoline anywhere in the world right now, as global prices have increased by 2-2.5 times, while in Armenia, the increase was only 10-20%," Papoyan told reporters, answering a question about whether the fuel shortage in Russia could affect Armenia.

According to him, Armenia has already diversified its fuel supply chains.

"When the Iran crisis arose and global gasoline prices doubled, the increase in Armenia was only 5-10%, as we began importing fuel from a country from which we had not previously supplied it. Thanks to our actions, citizens have been enjoying significantly cheaper gasoline for several months now," the minister stated.

According to Armstat, gasoline prices in Armenia increased by 8.9% in May 2026 compared to May 2025, while diesel fuel prices increased by 17.1%.

On a monthly basis, compared to April 2026, gasoline prices in May increased by 2.9%, while diesel fuel prices increased by 6%.
