Armenia has not received any proposals to establish a detention center for illegal migrants in the country, stated Foreign Minister's spokesperson Ani Badalyan.
YEREVAN, August 4. /ARKA/. Armenia has not received any proposals to establish a detention center for illegal migrants in the country, stated Foreign Minister's spokesperson Ani Badalyan.
"We have not received such a proposal, and such an issue has not been discussed with us," Badalyan told the Armenpress news agency, commenting on reports that Italy intends to raise the issue of establishing detention centers for illegal migrants in several countries, including Armenia, at the August 4 meeting of the Council of the European Union.
Earlier, the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera reported that Italy is considering establishing migrant detention centers in several countries, including Armenia, Rwanda, Ghana, Senegal, Tunisia, Libya, Mauritania, Egypt, Uganda, Ethiopia, Uzbekistan, and Montenegro.
