European Commissioner affirms EU solidarity with Armenia in the face of economic pressure from Russia
YEREVAN, June 3. /ARKA/. EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos described the previous day's telephone conversation with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan as productive and reaffirmed the EU's solidarity with Armenia in the face of increasing economic pressure from Russia.

"We are exploring ways to increase EU support for Armenia in the short term. We will also accelerate efforts to strengthen trade and energy ties with the South Caucasus and within the region, while supporting Armenia's economic ties with its closest neighbors," Kos wrote on her X page.

According to her, Armenia is a sovereign and independent state, and its people are free to choose their own development path. As previously reported by the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on June 2, during a telephone conversation, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos discussed programs for developing regional connectivity, cooperation to further strengthen democratic resilience as part of the RA-EU strategic agenda, as well as mechanisms for stimulating the economic component of the RA-EU partnership, including increasing trade turnover.
