Armenia Expands Trade and Economic Cooperation with Middle Eastern Countries

The Armenian Ministry of Economy announced plans to expand trade and economic cooperation with Middle Eastern countries, as well as implement measures to stimulate exports and diversify the economy.
YEREVAN, June 2. /ARKA/. The Armenian Ministry of Economy announced plans to expand trade and economic cooperation with Middle Eastern countries, as well as implement measures to stimulate exports and diversify the economy.
These issues were discussed yesterday at a meeting between RA Deputy Ministers of Economy Arman Khojoyan and Narek Hovakimyan and the ambassadors and diplomatic representatives of the UAE, Kuwait, Iraq, and Qatar.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy, the parties discussed opportunities to transform existing challenges in the export sector into new opportunities, intensify business ties, and implement joint programs.
Meeting participants confirmed their readiness to further deepen trade and economic relations and emphasized the importance of mutually beneficial cooperation.
Of the four countries represented at the meeting, Armenia's most significant trade volumes are with the UAE and Iraq: according to Armstat, these trade volumes amounted to $161.5 million and $78.5 million, respectively, in January-March 2026.
According to the agency, the UAE has consistently ranked among Armenia's top three largest foreign trade partners in recent years.
