Electricity supply to railways under TRIPP project to begin in 2026, says Pashinyan
YEREVAN, April 22. /ARКА/. As part of the TRIPP investment project, power transmission lines for railway infrastructure are planned to be commissioned this year, announced by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
"I am confident that we will begin ground work as early as 2026, and, according to my calculations, the power transmission lines will be the fastest to be commissioned. Incidentally, this project will also create numerous jobs," Pashinyan said.
He expressed hope that Armenia will be able to provide these jobs itself, and that companies will not have to attract labor from other countries.
The (TRIPP) project is a US-backed, 2026-initiated infrastructure plan to build transit routes (rail, road, pipelines) through southern Armenia, linking Azerbaijan to its Nakhchivan exclave. Aimed at promoting regional economic connectivity it is described as a "Middle Corridor" component.-0-
