Economic activity in Armenia increased by 7.1% in the first quarter of 2026

According to preliminary data, Armenia's economic activity index increased by 7.1% in January-March 2026 compared to the same period in 2025, the Statistical Committee reports.
YEREVAN, April 27. /ARKA/. According to preliminary data, Armenia's economic activity index increased by 7.1% in January-March 2026 compared to the same period in 2025, the Statistical Committee reports.
Moreover, in March of this year, compared to March of last year, the economic activity index increased by 6.6%, and compared to February of this year, by 11.6%.
In January-March, industrial production amounted to 748,000.8 million drams, an increase of 13.4% compared to January-March 2025. In March, year-on-year growth was 7%, while month-on-month growth was 2%. Gross agricultural output in the first quarter amounted to 96,359.6 million drams, a decrease of 5.2% compared to the same period last year.
Construction output during the reporting period amounted to 95,640.1 million drams, an increase of 22% compared to the same period last year. In March, year-on-year growth was 24%, and month-on-month growth was 34.4%.
Domestic trade turnover for January-March amounted to 1,442,794.1 million drams, a 2.1% increase compared to the same period last year. In March, year-on-year growth was 0.2%, and month-on-month growth was 14.1%. The volume of services (excluding trade) in the first three months of 2026 reached 981,729.1 million drams, an increase of 7.4% compared to the same period in 2025. In March, annual growth was 7.8%, and monthly growth was 12.6%.
