YEREVAN, June 24. /ARKA/. Armenia expects a moderately warm July with frequent rains, announced Gagik Surenyan, Deputy Director of the Armenian Hydrometeorological Center.
"The average monthly air temperature in July is forecast to be within the climatic norm, while precipitation is expected to be above normal. Therefore, July will not be too hot and quite rainy," Surenyan noted at a press conference on Wednesday.
He reported that daytime temperatures in the mountainous regions of the republic will fluctuate between 24-28 degrees Celsius, in the foothills 30-32 degrees Celsius, and in the valleys 32-35 degrees Celsius.
"However, isolated hot days are possible, especially in the third ten-day period of the month. Over the course of one or two days, the air temperature in the republic's lowland regions—the Ararat Valley, Syunik, and Yerevan—could reach 38-40 degrees," Surenyan said.
