Armenian unemployment rate drops to 16.6 percent, NSS

The unemployment rate in Armenia in the third quarter of 2015 dropped to 16.6%, according to the National Statistical Service (NSS). In the first quarter the rate was 19.1%, falling to 18.2% in the second quarter, the NSS said.

The economically active population in the third quarter rose by 0.7% from the second quarter to 1.325 million people. The number of the employed stood at 1.105 million and some 219,700 were officially registered as jobless.
The manpower in the third quarter decreased by 1.6% from the previous quarter to 2.075 million.-0-
