YEREVAN, June 11. /ARKA/. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan sent a congratulatory message to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on the victory of the Civil Contract Party in the parliamentary elections.

"On behalf of my people and myself, I sincerely congratulate you on the success of your Civil Contract Party under your leadership in the parliamentary elections held on June 7, 2026, in the Republic of Armenia, and wish you success in forming a government for the third time," Erdogan's message reads.

The Turkish President expressed confidence that Pashinyan's strategic vision of establishing long-term peace and stability in the region and ensuring the necessary cooperation in this direction will be successfully completed.

He wished Pashinyan "health and well-being, and prosperity and happiness to the people of Armenia."

Elections

Elections to the National Assembly of Armenia took place on June 7. Eighteen political forces participated, 15 of which failed to pass the 4% threshold for entry into parliament.

According to preliminary election results, the ruling Civil Contract party (with 49.825% of the vote), the opposition blocs Strong Armenia (23.281%), and Armenia (9.934%) are in the National Assembly.

Another opposition party, Prosperous Armenia, received 3.996% of the vote, falling just a few dozen votes short of the threshold.

Final election results will be announced on June 14.

Meanwhile, several opposition political parties have announced their intention to initiate a review of the results, alleging the authorities' use of administrative resources and pressure on voters during the election process. Three political forces – the Prosperous Armenia, Wings of Unity and Armenia bloc parties – submitted applications to the Central Election Commission for a recount of the voting results at 555 polling stations out of 2,005.
