YEREVAN, June 9. /ARKA/. The United States looks forward to continuing to work with Armenia to ensure peace, stability, and prosperity in the South Caucasus and beyond, said U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

On social media, Rubio congratulated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his Civil Contract party's victory in the parliamentary elections.

"The United States supports Prime Minister Pashinyan and Armenia in their pursuit of peace and is committed to advancing the goals of the historic Washington Peace Summit, including the implementation of the Trump Roadmap for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) initiative," Rubio noted.

He emphasized that the United States looks forward to continuing to work with Armenia in this direction.

About the Armenian Elections

According to preliminary results of the parliamentary elections held in Armenia on June 7, three political forces have entered parliament: the ruling Civil Contract Party (which received 49.825% of the vote) and two opposition blocs, Strong Armenia (23.281%) and Armenia (9.934%).

About the TRIPP Project

On June 4, the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the signing of the TRIPP Framework Agreement between Armenia and the United States, initialed on May 26 during the visit of the US Secretary of State to Yerevan.

The Board of Directors of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) approved the establishment of the TRIPP Development Company, a joint venture between the United States and Armenia (one of four projects in DFC's $2.5 billion new strategic investment package).

The TRIPP Development Company is designed to support trade, transport, and economic development in the Caucasus region, as well as expand international, interstate, and intrastate transportation connectivity.

Armenian authorities previously stated that TRIPP Development Company would receive an initial 49-year right to implement the project. The plan is to offer the US a 74% stake in the joint venture, with Armenia retaining 26%. If the agreement is extended for another 50 years, the share ratio is expected to change.
