Armenians continue considering Russia a friendly country - Prime Minister

YEREVAN, November 24. /ARKA/. Armenians continue considering the Russian Federation as a friendly country, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said today.

"In relations with friendly countries there are issues that need to be resolved. We are guided by this logic, and we hope and will do everything to ensure that our relations with the Russian Federation are built on the mutual respect and consideration of mutual interests, respect for sovereignty, and independence,' Pashinyan said in an online questions and answers session with the citizens.

Pashinyan also stressed the huge role of Russian culture in civilizational terms "I understand that attitudes towards the Russian Federation can be different, but in no way one can deny the huge role of Russian culture in the modern world and civilization I do not think it is legitimate to question the works of Tolstoy, Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich. In this way we can list dozens of names in all areas - in culture, politics, and science," Pashinyan said.

At the same time, he noted that he does not imagine that any other language, accept for Armenian, should have an official status in Armenia.

"I encourage all fellow citizens, young people to learn as many foreign languages as possible, including Russian. This is extremely important in today's world for increasing the competitiveness of both the individual and the state, especially in the context of the deep economic, cultural and political ties that Armenia has with Russia," Pashinyan emphasized. --0--
