Yerevan authorities intend to make a number of decisions by fall related to the development of public transportation and the expansion of the capital's transportation infrastructure.

As Mayor Tigran Avinyan stated at a working meeting at City Hall, further development of the city's trolleybus network remains possible.
"It is necessary to summarize all the data from previous transportation network analyses and present them for a final decision, as well as determine a final model for the need for additional transportation," Avinyan said.
According to him, by fall they plan to determine two main dedicated trolleybus line layouts, equip them, and apply the appropriate road markings.
The mayor noted that preliminary route options have already been prepared, but the final decision will be made after further discussion.
According to Avinyan, the city authorities' goal is to make public transportation more attractive and reduce the use of private cars by improving the quality and comfort of transportation.
"Our goal is to encourage more people to use public transportation and reduce the number of cars in Yerevan. However, to achieve this, public transportation must consistently become more comfortable," the mayor stated.
