In August 2026, compared to August 2025, inflation in Armenia was 4.4%, while compared to July of this year, prices increased by 0.2%.
YEREVAN, September 4. /ARKA/. In August 2026, compared to August 2025, inflation in Armenia was 4.4%, while compared to July of this year, prices increased by 0.2%. This is according to data from the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
In August 2026, compared to August 2025, prices for food products and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 6.4%, while compared to July, they decreased by 1%.
Prices for alcoholic and tobacco products increased by 7.5% year-on-year, and by 0.3% over the month.
Prices for clothing and footwear increased by 3.6% in August compared to August of last year, while remaining unchanged over the month. The cost of housing and utilities, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels increased by 1.4% year-on-year and by 1.1% month-on-month. Prices for household goods, appliances, and home maintenance services increased by 2.5% year-on-year and by 0.4% month-on-month.
In healthcare, price growth was 3.5% year-on-year and 0.2% month-on-month. In transportation, prices increased by 2.4% compared to August last year and by 4.1% compared to July. In communications, growth was 0.6% year-on-year, while prices decreased by 0.2% month-on-month. In recreation and culture, prices remained unchanged year-on-year and decreased by 0.6% month-on-month.
In education, prices increased by 8.3% compared to August 2025, with no monthly trend. In the restaurant and hotel sectors, growth was 5% year-on-year and 0.3% month-on-month. Prices for various goods and services increased by 3.5% year-on-year and 0.1% compared to July.
Meanwhile, in the non-food market, prices increased by 2.4% in August 2026 compared to August 2025, and by 0.4% compared to July. Tariffs for services increased by 2.8% year-on-year and 1.3% month-on-month.
Armenia's 2026 state budget projects economic growth at 5.4%. According to the Central Bank's monetary policy report for the first quarter of this year, by the end of 2026, Armenia's GDP growth is expected to be 7.1-4.7%, depending on scenario (A-B), 5.7-5.3% in 2027, and 4.9-5.2% in 2028.
