Ashot Hakobyan has been elected chairman of the Gazprom Armenia Board of Directors and CEO of Gazprom Armenia by the Board of Directors of Gazprom Armenia CJSC, the company's press service reported.

YEREVAN, April 17. /ARKA/. Ashot Hakobyan has been elected chairman of the Gazprom Armenia Board of Directors and CEO of Gazprom Armenia by the Board of Directors of Gazprom Armenia CJSC, the company's press service reported.

Gazprom-Armenia, a 100% subsidiary of the Russian holding Gazprom is the monopoly supplier of natural gas from Russia to Armenia.

It is engaged in transportation, storage, distribution and sales of natural gas, as well as reconstruction and expansion of gas transportation system and underground gas storage capacities.

Ashot Hakobyan was born in 1964. He graduated from Gubkin Moscow Institute of Oil and Gas Industry. He held various position in the company. Since December 2016 he served as Deputy CEO-Chief Engineer of Gazprom Armenia.

His predecessor Hrant Tadevosyan passed away at the age of 60 in March 2023.-0-
