Armenian prime minister to attend Davos forum

Armenia’s Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan will fly to Switzerland on January 22 to participate in the Davos economic forum, the government's press service reported.
YEREVAN, January 19. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan will fly to Switzerland on January 22 to participate in the Davos economic forum, the government's press service reported. It said in Davos Karapetyan will have a number of bilateral and multilateral meetings with the heads of state, as well as with top managers of international organizations and companies.
Karapetyan will also take part in the meeting of the Informal Gathering of World Economic Leaders (IGWEL). In recent years, Armenia has not participated in the Davos economic forum.
The World Economic Forum (WEF) is a Swiss non-governmental organization, best known for organizing annual meetings in Davos. Leading business and political leaders, prominent thinkers and journalists are invited to the meetings to discuss the most acute world problems, including health and environmental protection.
The forum was created in 1971. Now its members are about 1000 large companies and organizations from different countries of the world, including Russia. The permanent executive body is the Board of Directors. The headquarters are located in the suburbs of Geneva. The budget is made of annual membership fees. -0-
