Armenian regulator denies reports of return of export cargo from Ukraine
YEREVAN, June 15. /ARKA/. The Food Safety Inspectorate of Armenia has denied reports of the return of an export cargo of peppers to Ukraine.

"Today, one of the Armenian websites, armatmedia.am, reported that Ukraine allegedly returned a truckload of Armenian peppers due to the detection of pests, specifically thrips, in the products. This publication is untrue," the regulator stated in a statement.

The Inspectorate reported that none of the shipments of phytosanitary products exported from Armenia to Ukraine were returned.

"The Inspectorate has not received any notifications from the authorized body of Ukraine regarding non-compliance of the cargo. There have also been no reports from business entities," the statement emphasized.

The agency is asking media outlets to provide the source of their "information," if any, and strongly recommends that other media outlets not disseminate unverified and false information.
