YEREVAN, July 29. /ARKA/. Armenia ranked 96th in the updated Global Tax Expenditures Transparency Index (GTETI), scoring 33.4 points out of 100.

Compared to the previous version of the index, the country dropped 21 positions, and its final score decreased by 3.5 points.

Across five areas of the index, Armenia received:
8.0 points out of 20 for public accessibility;
8.0 for institutional framework;
7.9 for methodology and coverage;
5.5 for publication of descriptive data on tax expenditures;
4.0 for conducting tax expenditure assessments.

ARKA News Agency has sent a request to the Ministry of Finance of Armenia and is awaiting comment.

The GTETI index covers 218 countries and jurisdictions, but the ranking is compiled for 116 countries for which information was available for assessment. Armenia ranked 96th.

The GTETI assesses the regularity, quality, and coverage of government reporting on tax expenditures—exemptions, exemptions, deductions, tax credits, and other preferences that reduce budget revenues. The index does not reflect the level of the tax burden or the competitiveness of the tax system. It measures the transparency of tax expenditure disclosures.
