YEREVAN, June 18. /ARKA/. The National Assembly of Armenia adopted the Law "On Investments" in its second and final reading at its session on Thursday.
As stated by RA Deputy Minister of Economy Lilia Sirakanyan, the document aims to enshrine a modern legal framework for investment activity for both local and foreign investors.
She noted that the current Law "On Foreign Investments," adopted in 1994, does not fully regulate the investment process in line with modern requirements.
Sirakanyan noted that the new law will apply not only to foreign but also to local investors, as the current regulation applies only to foreign investments.
"The draft law provides guarantees for the protection of investors and investments, as well as transparency and stability in the legal investment environment," the Deputy Minister said.
