Food prices in Armenia increased by 7.4% year-on-year in July and decreased by 3.8% month-on-month

Food and soft drink prices in July 2026 increased by 7.4% compared to July 2025, and decreased by 3.8% compared to June of this year.

YEREVAN, August 5. /ARKA/. Food and soft drink prices in July 2026 increased by 7.4% compared to July 2025, and decreased by 3.8% compared to June of this year. This is according to data from the Statistical Committee of Armenia.

Bakery and cereal prices increased by 2.8% year-on-year in July and by 0.1% month-on-month. Rice prices decreased by 4.3% compared to July of last year and by 0.7% compared to June, wheat groats increased by 11.3% and 0.7%, respectively, and buckwheat by 9.7% and 0.7%.

Flour prices increased by 2.5%, with no monthly change, bread by 2.2%, with no monthly change, and pasta by 7.1% and 0.3%, respectively. Meanwhile, loaf prices fell by 3% year-on-year and 0.4% month-on-month, lentils by 3.6% and 0.2%, respectively, and peas increased by 2.7% year-on-year and 0.4% month-on-month.

Meat prices increased by 11.9% year-on-year in July, and by 0.1% compared to June. Beef prices increased by 23.1% year-on-year and 0.2% month-on-month. Pork prices increased by 4.3% year-on-year but decreased by 0.2% month-on-month. Lamb and mutton prices increased by 14.7% year-on-year and decreased by 0.9% month-on-month. Poultry (chicken) prices increased by 5.3%, with no monthly price changes.

Fish and seafood prices in July 2026 decreased by 3.4% compared to July 2025, and by 4.4% compared to June. Fresh trout prices decreased by 6.7% year-on-year and by 4.9% month-on-month.

Prices in the "Dairy, Cheese, and Eggs" category increased by 13% year-on-year in July and decreased by 0.1% month-on-month. Pasteurized milk prices increased by 8.2% year-on-year but decreased by 0.1% month-on-month. Sour cream prices increased by 8.8% year-on-year and decreased by 0.1% month-on-month. Cottage cheese prices increased by 7%, with no monthly change, cheese prices increased by 8% year-on-year and 0.1% month-on-month, and eggs increased by 31.2% year-on-year and decreased by 0.3% month-on-month.

Products in the "Oils and Fats" group increased by 3.8% year-on-year and decreased by 0.2% compared to June. Butter prices remained unchanged year-on-year and decreased by 1.7% month-on-month. Sunflower oil prices increased by 10.3% year-on-year and 1.1% month-on-month. Fruit prices increased by 14.6% year-on-year in July and fell by 4.2% compared to June.

In the "Vegetables" category, prices decreased by 0.1% year-on-year and by 24.2% compared to June.

In the "Sugar, Fruit Puree, Honey, Syrups, Chocolate, and Sugar Confectionery" category, prices increased by 4% year-on-year in July and by 0.4% month-on-month. Sugar and granulated sugar increased by 0.3% compared to July last year and by 0.4% month-on-month. Chocolate prices increased by 5.3% year-on-year and by 0.2% month-on-month.

In the "Coffee, Tea, and Cocoa" category, prices increased by 5.5% in July this year compared to July last year and by 0.4% compared to June. Coffee prices increased by 5.1% year-on-year and 0.2% month-on-month, tea by 5.2% and 1%, respectively, and cocoa by 20.3% and 2.6%.
Prices for mineral, spring, and bottled drinking water in July increased by 3.7% year-on-year and 1% month-on-month.

Among alcoholic beverages, vodka prices increased by 10.8% year-on-year and 0.5% month-on-month, wine by 1% year-on-year but decreased by 0.4% month-on-month, and beer increased by 4.2% and 0.2%, respectively.

Tobacco prices in July increased by 6.9% year-on-year and 0.7% month-on-month. Food products not included in other groups increased in price by 4.2% in July 2026 compared to July 2025, and by 0.9% compared to June of this year.

Meanwhile, in the non-food market, prices increased by 2.5% in July 2026 compared to July 2025, and by 0.2% compared to June. Service tariffs increased by 1.8% year-over-year and by 0.1% month-over-month.

In Armenia, inflation in July 2026 compared to July 2025 was 4.5%, while deflation was 1.4% compared to June of this year.
