Armenia to Establish Unified Database of Tourism Service Providers

YEREVAN, August 14. /ARKA/. At a meeting on August 13, the Armenian government approved a procedure for the creation and operation of a database of tourism service providers.

As noted in the decision's rationale, the creation of a unified database is aimed at improving the efficiency of public administration in the tourism sector, ensuring data completeness, and digitizing regulatory processes.

Currently, information on tourism service providers is collected from various sources and is not consolidated on a single information platform. This, according to the rationale, complicates government agencies' monitoring of the industry, analysis, and development of public policy, and reduces the effectiveness of data exchange between agencies.

The decision calls for the creation of a unified database of tourism service providers, as well as establishing procedures for its management and use, as well as for collecting, storing, and protecting information.

Furthermore, it is planned to ensure the database's interaction with other government information systems based on the "single request" principle.

According to the Tourism Committee, 1.042 million tourists visited Armenia in January–June 2026, a 14.8% increase compared to the same period in 2025. In 2025, the number of tourist visits to the country exceeded 2.26 million.-0-
