YEREVAN, August 3. /ARKA/. The danger of wildfires is still high in many parts of Armenia, especially in the valleys and foothills, the National Weather Service said today.

It said short showers and thunderstorms are expected on August 3-4 at night hours and in the afternoon in some regions and in most of the country on August 5-7.

The speed of the southwestern winds is 2-5 meters per second. In the evening and during thunderstorms, the wind speed may accelerate to 15-20 meters per second.

The temperatures are expected to drop by 6-8 degrees Celsius on August 5-6. Short thunder showers are expected in Yerevan on August 5-7 with strong winds.

The temperature in the capital city will rise to 36-38C on Wednesday afternoon and then fall over the weekend to 30-32C. -0-
